Silver annual return in US dollars
How to read this table
Each cell is silver's percentage change against that currency during that calendar year. A +10% in the INR column means someone measuring their wealth in Indian rupees saw their silver rise 10% that year.
The columns also tell a currency story: when silver is up 18% in USD but 27% in INR in the same year, the extra nine points come from the rupee weakening against the dollar. That is why silver's role as a store of value depends on where you live — two investors holding the same ounce can experience very different returns.
Methodology. Each completed year compares the last COMEX silver futures close of the year with the previous year's, both converted at European Central Bank year-end reference rates (via Frankfurter). The 2026 row is year-to-date against the 2025 year-end level, recalculated with the live price and current exchange rates. A dash means the ECB did not publish that currency's rate at the time. Figures are indicative and may differ slightly from tables based on the London silver price.
