How Much Silver Can You Carry When You Travel?

Duty-free silver allowances, duty or VAT on the excess and the value above which silver must be declared, for travellers arriving in 12 countries. Silver is often treated differently from gold: India's jewellery allowance is shared with gold, Nepal and Bangladesh have larger silver limits, and the UK and EU charge VAT on silver bars that they exempt for gold. Each country page has the full rules and an estimator that values your silver at today's price. Rules reviewed October 2026 — always check with customs before you fly.
