Dubai prices silver in dirhams per gram for jewellery and per kilo for bars. With the dirham pegged to the dollar, the Dubai rate follows international spot almost exactly.

VAT on silver in Dubai

Silver jewellery and silverware carry 5% VAT. Investment silver — 99% purity or more, such as 999 bars and bullion coins — is zero-rated, which makes Dubai one of the cheapest places to buy silver bars.

Where to buy

Dealers in the Gold Souk in Deira and bullion dealers across the city sell bars from 100 g to 1 kg; some banks sell branded bars too. Small bars carry bigger premiums per gram than kilo bars.
