ID and Cash Limits for Buying Silver in Vietnam
Vietnam's strict trading rules (bank-account payment from VND 20 million a day, licensed gold-bar sellers recording your citizen ID) are in Decree 232/2025/ND-CP and its circulars, and they cover gold only. For silver, no national cash cap or ID threshold was found. Dealers in precious metals and gems report large-value transactions of VND 400 million or more to the State Bank under anti-money-laundering rules.

The rules in detail

- Under Circular 34/2025/TT-NHNN, licensed gold-bar sellers send buyers' citizen ID details and deal data to the State Bank. This is a gold-bar rule.
When you sell
- No national rule was found that sets an ID requirement or a cash limit when you sell silver.
